How to make your hair naturally long within 2week
HOW TO PAMPER YOUR ENDS/TIPS.
In order to retain length and see your hair growth, you have to pamper your tips because they are older than the other parts of your hair.
Our natural hair is known to be fragile but the ENDS (i.e. the TIPS) are the most fragile and vulnerable to breakage because they are the oldest part of our hair. We can protect our hair by putting it in protective styles, i.e. box braids, twists, threads, locs etc. Scarves can also be used to protect our hair (i.e. use does not have to be limited to bad hair days only.
In this piece, protection is focused on our fragile ENDS. You can protect your ends by:
1. MOISTURIZING: Water is said to be a good moisturizer, but it tends to evaporate if not properly sealed in. A butter-based moisturizer with water (aqua) as the first ingredient on the list will keep your ends stay soft and well moisturized. Simply apply the moisturizer to your hands and scrunch it in (best done before styling your hair). In the absence of a store-bought moisturizer, you can use aloe vera gel.
2. SEAL WITH HEAVY OIL: You can also keep your ends protected by sealing with heavy oils e.g. Castor Oil . You can make do with the regular castor oil. This oil keeps your ends clumped together, hence preventing breakage. (Remember, you can easily break a single stick of a broom but it would be difficult to break a whole bunch.
3. TUCK THEM AWAY: Lastly, you can tuck your ends in buns, rolls, doughnuts, pin up-dos etc.
4. Make sure you cover your hair with a satin bonnet to retain moisture while you sleep.
P.S.: Our natural hair, on the average, grows half an inch every month. We need to put measures in place to retain that length.
Happy hair grooming.
One love!
